Susana Maria Alfonso de Aguiar, conhecida como Mísia nasceu a 18 de Junho de 1955 no Porto em Portugal.

É conhecida por ter sido uma das fadistas mais genuína, original e inovadora, respeitando a tradição e experimentado uma mesma alma crua, recusando sempre o caminho mais fácil das modas, do piroso e do banal cantando em Português, Francês, Napolitano, Catalão e Espanhol.

Filha de uma Bailarina Catalã e de um Burguês Portuense é na Avó Materna que encontra a inspiração e aconchego após a separação dos pais com apenas 4 anos. Muda-se aos 20 anos para Barcelona e depois Madrid regressando a Portugal com 36 anos.

É aí que grava o primeiro de 15 álbuns já com o seu nome artístico, invocando poetas e escritores de referência como José Saramago, Natália Correia, Agustina-Bessa Luís (que para ela escreveu o seu único poema), Vasco Graça Moura, Fernando Pessoa, entre muitos outros como por exemplo Carlos Paião, Jorge Palma, Vitorino e Sérgio Godinho.

Tomou sempre partido dos valores universais (como contra a extrema direita por exemplo) e trabalhou ainda em Bailado, Teatro, Televisão e Cinema tendo sido agraciada com a "Ordem das Artes e das Letras" em França e "Ordem do Mérito" em Portugal.   

Vem a falecer a 27 de Julho de 2024 em Lisboa Portugal com 69 anos e, ainda que Susana agora nos deixe, é certo que Mísia jamais nos deixará reforçando uma identidade destemida, pura dum arrojado e arrebatador bom gosto.

Susana Maria Alfonso de Aguiar, bekannt als Mísia, wurde am 18. Juni 1955 in Porto, Portugal, geboren.

Sie ist bekannt als eine der authentischsten, originellsten und innovativsten Fadistas, die die Tradition respektierte und eine rohe, unverfälschte Seele verkörperte. Sie verweigerte stets den einfachen Weg des Mainstreams, des Kitsches und des Banalen und sang auf Portugiesisch, Französisch, Neapolitanisch, Katalanisch und Spanisch.

Als Tochter einer katalanischen Tänzerin und eines bürgerlichen Porto-Einwohners fand sie nach der Trennung ihrer Eltern im Alter von nur vier Jahren Trost und Inspiration bei ihrer Großmutter mütterlicherseits. Mit 20 Jahren zog sie nach Barcelona und später nach Madrid, kehrte aber mit 36 Jahren nach Portugal zurück.

Dort nahm sie ihr erstes von insgesamt 15 Alben unter ihrem Künstlernamen auf und rief Dichter und Schriftsteller wie José Saramago, Natália Correia, Agustina-Bessa Luís (die ihr einziges Gedicht für sie schrieb), Vasco Graça Moura, Fernando Pessoa und viele andere wie Carlos Paião, Jorge Palma, Vitorino und Sérgio Godinho in Erinnerung.

Sie setzte sich stets für universelle Werte ein (wie zum Beispiel gegen die extreme Rechte) und arbeitete außerdem im Bereich des Balletts, Theaters, Fernsehens und Kinos. Sie wurde mit dem "Orden der Künste und der Literatur" in Frankreich und dem "Verdienstorden" in Portugal ausgezeichnet.

Am 27. Juli 2024 verstarb sie in Lissabon, Portugal, im Alter von 69 Jahren. Auch wenn Susana uns nun verlassen hat, wird Mísia sicherlich für immer bei uns bleiben und eine furchtlose, reine Identität mit mutigem und überwältigendem Geschmack weiter stärken.

The daughter of a Catalan dancer and a bourgeois man from Porto, she found comfort and inspiration in her maternal grandmother after her parents separated when she was just four years old. At the age of 20, she moved to Barcelona and later Madrid, but returned to Portugal at 36.

It was then that she recorded the first of 15 albums under her stage name, invoking renowned poets and writers such as José Saramago, Natália Correia, Agustina-Bessa Luís (who wrote her only poem for her), Vasco Graça Moura, Fernando Pessoa, and many others like Carlos Paião, Jorge Palma, Vitorino, and Sérgio Godinho.

She always stood up for universal values (such as opposing the far-right) and worked in ballet, theater, television, and cinema. She was honored with the "Order of Arts and Letters" in France and the "Order of Merit" in Portugal.

She passed away on July 27, 2024, in Lisbon, Portugal, at the age of 69. While Susana may have left us, Mísia will certainly never leave, reinforcing a fearless, pure identity with bold and captivating taste.
