Depois de três anos a escrever, chegou finalmente o dia.

Hoje apresento “A Vida Cinquenta Vezes — Uma viagem de raízes, escolhas e legado”.

Este livro nasceu de uma vontade muito simples: olhar para trás, compreender melhor de onde venho e perceber como tantas pessoas, lugares, escolhas, perdas, encontros e recomeços contribuíram para aquilo que sou hoje.

Ao longo destas páginas percorro memórias de família e de infância, Goa, Moçambique, Portugal e Alemanha, os anos de escola e universidade, a música, o trabalho, a emigração, a fotografia, a fé, o Sporting, o ensino e muitos dos projectos e pessoas que foram dando forma à minha vida.

Não quis escrever apenas uma autobiografia. Quis preservar histórias, cruzar gerações e deixar um testemunho sobre identidade, memória, mudança e sobre a capacidade que todos temos de nos reinventarmos ao longo da vida.

Foram três anos de escrita, pesquisa, fotografias, documentos, tabelas, recordações e muitas revisões até chegar aqui.

Esta é a primeira edição, em português. Nos próximos anos quero também levar esta história a mais pessoas através de versões em inglês e alemão.

Obrigado a todos os que fizeram parte deste caminho — família, amigos, colegas, antigos colegas, músicos, professores e tantas outras pessoas que, de uma forma ou de outra, aparecem nestas páginas.

Uma vida pode ser vivida uma vez.

Ou reinventada cinquenta vezes.

After three years of writing, the day has finally arrived.

Today I am launching “A Vida Cinquenta Vezes — A Journey of Roots, Choices and Legacy”.

This book began with a very simple wish: to look back, understand where I come from, and explore how so many people, places, choices, losses, encounters and new beginnings have shaped the person I am today.

Across these pages, I revisit family and childhood memories, Goa, Mozambique, Portugal and Germany, my years of education, music, work, emigration, photography, faith, Sporting, teaching, and many of the projects and people that have helped shape my life.

I did not want to write just an autobiography. I wanted to preserve stories, connect generations and leave a personal record about identity, memory, change and our ability to reinvent ourselves throughout life.

It took three years of writing, research, photographs, documents, tables, memories and many revisions to reach this point.

This first edition is in Portuguese. Over the coming years, I also plan to bring this story to a wider audience through English and German editions.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey — family, friends, colleagues, former colleagues, musicians, teachers and the many other people who, in one way or another, became part of these pages.

A life can be lived once.

Nach drei Jahren des Schreibens ist der Tag nun endlich gekommen.

Heute veröffentliche ich „A Vida Cinquenta Vezes — Eine Reise durch Wurzeln, Entscheidungen und Vermächtnis“.

Dieses Buch entstand aus einem ganz einfachen Wunsch: zurückzublicken, besser zu verstehen, woher ich komme, und nachzuvollziehen, wie viele Menschen, Orte, Entscheidungen, Verluste, Begegnungen und Neuanfänge mich zu dem Menschen gemacht haben, der ich heute bin.

Auf diesen Seiten erzähle ich von Familie und Kindheit, von Goa, Mosambik, Portugal und Deutschland, von Schule und Universität, Musik, Arbeit, Emigration, Fotografie, Glauben, Sporting, Unterricht und von vielen Projekten und Menschen, die meinen Lebensweg geprägt haben.

Ich wollte nicht einfach nur eine Autobiografie schreiben. Ich wollte Geschichten bewahren, Generationen miteinander verbinden und ein persönliches Zeugnis über Identität, Erinnerung, Veränderung und die Fähigkeit hinterlassen, sich im Laufe eines Lebens immer wieder neu zu erfinden.

Bis zu diesem Moment waren es drei Jahre voller Schreiben, Recherche, Fotos, Dokumente, Tabellen, Erinnerungen und zahlreicher Überarbeitungen.

Diese erste Ausgabe erscheint auf Portugiesisch. In den kommenden Jahren möchte ich diese Geschichte auch einem größeren Publikum zugänglich machen — mit Ausgaben auf Englisch und Deutsch.

Danke an alle, die Teil dieses Weges waren — Familie, Freunde, Kollegen, ehemalige Kollegen, Musiker, Lehrer und all die Menschen, die auf die eine oder andere Weise ihren Platz in diesen Seiten gefunden haben.

Ein Leben kann einmal gelebt werden.

Oder fünfzigmal neu erfunden werden.
